Yeah. At 6'1" 244 lbs., Jack would be fine in a 3-4 scheme, but Telvin would obviously have to go. He's way too small to play 3-4. I just don't see us making such a scheme change.

I don't know if that'd be the case though. The Cardinals use Deone Bucannon as a LB in their 3-4. He was a safety in college and started out at safety in the NFL before making the switch. He's only 6'1 and like 215 pounds.

Same for Mark Barron on the Rams. Started out as a safety but rams converted him to a LB. He's like 6'2 225 or so.

Those are just two guys off the top of my head who are typically undersized for a LB in a 3-4, but they do fine. Obviously there's some scheming involved and they aren't being asked to crash the box and match up with a Guard or Center, play after play after play.

There's some more guys out there, but yea typically your 3-4 LB (especially the ILB) are far thicker than Smith is.
