Have Foles NOW and let Rosen sit for 2 years and develop. Hmmm....so much intrigue for the next few weeks. Regarding the part in bold, I guess it depends on how "beating out" one or the other is considered. Rosen is younger yet Foles is more experienced. I would bet that Foles would "beat out" the much younger/inexperienced QB in real games. Training camp, OTA's and pre-season games wouldn't really be much of a gauge. In the scenario presented, I think that spending on Foles via FA as well as spending a 3rd round pick for Rosen would actually be the smart and prudent thing to do. Allow Rosen to learn behind a veteran while at the same time be ready to go in should the veteran (Foles) go down with an injury. The thing is. The team shouldn't be so quick to "pull the trigger" should the team and/or the veteran QB struggle (see Blaine Gabbert and Blake Bortles history). Stick with the veteran and stay the course. There is no "quick fix" at the QB position. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't. |
