I have been thinking of that all afternoon.  I think this would be an ideal scenario.  Short term and long term, QB should be fixed, without surrendering too much in the way of immediate help for the OL or TE/WR positions.

The one problem I could forsee with that is if somehow Rosen beat out Foles'.

Regarding the part in bold, I guess it depends on how "beating out" one or the other is considered.  Rosen is younger yet Foles is more experienced.  I would bet that Foles would "beat out" the much younger/inexperienced QB in real games.  Training camp, OTA's and pre-season games wouldn't really be much of a gauge.  In the scenario presented, I think that spending on Foles via FA as well as spending a 3rd round pick for Rosen would actually be the smart and prudent thing to do.  Allow Rosen to learn behind a veteran while at the same time be ready to go in should the veteran (Foles) go down with an injury.

The thing is.  The team shouldn't be so quick to "pull the trigger" should the team and/or the veteran QB struggle (see Blaine Gabbert and Blake Bortles history).  Stick with the veteran and stay the course.  There is no "quick fix" at the QB position.
