This. I think there was talks to restructure but they never materialized. If they need additional cap space for FA signings I’m sure they can revisit him as he’s indicated he’s open to do so.


They clearly agreed to restructure so I figure they're just still talking.

Right now the Jaguars are right about $28 mil under. I figure a Calais restructure would free up maybe another $6 mil.

The presumption is they take $9 mil of his base and convert that to a signing bonus over the next three years with a restructured contract that includes a one-year extension.  The catch is this leaves him with a $20.5 mil cap hit next year so it's possible they'll extend him longer while including some of next year's money.
