I'm only commenting on the opinions espoused commonly here on the board.  

 

A look at the history of 1st round pass rushers and 2nd round pass rushers does show a much greater success rate by the first rounders, however. 

 

Then again - New Orleans had an UDFA with 12 sacks this year (Galette) ....so there are always exceptions.
