I guess we do see things way different.

 

I just don't like the idea of trading a 31 year old QB, who hasn't shown any signs of decline (despite what you say because it favors your argument), who BTW has lead your team to 2 superbowl wins..  No way do I trade him.  

 

We both agree that getting your franchise QB is the most important thing.  I think getting Ben a couple of more weapons and some protection - and you've got yourself great QB play AT LEAST until he's 35.

I tend to think keeping Ben and drafting pieces around him (and actually hitting on your draft picks) is the best thing the Steelers can do.  And you know what?  I bet you they agree with me & keep Ben and keep building around him.

 

It's the same reason Tom Brady won't get traded in favor of your potential franchise QB Mallet.  Right now the Patriots could still get great value out of Brady, who only has a few years left. 

 

But they would still be [BLEEP] for trading Tom.  They're going to get as much as they can out of Brady while he can play.  They will continue to build around him, hoping they can reach the superbowl one more time.  That's what a smart team does.
