This is typical Trump, greatly exaggerating the truth to argue his side of a "deal." It's what salesmen do, and Trump is nothing if not a salesman. It's no worse than 90% of the claims about the horrors of global warming, and those are from scientists who should be accurately telling the truth.

You can just call it lying you know. He lied.

Everybody lies (quoted from House M.D.) Exaggeration is a form of lying. 

I was explaining the reasoning behind it in Trump's case. Salesmen are expected to lie. Scientists are expected to tell the truth. Would you care to explain the reasoning behind the exaggeration (lies) in the case of climate scientists?
