That alone should drive development, and there are lots of other reasons to develop better energy storage. I shouldn't say 'never.' Solar power from space-based arrays might prove to be cheaper, since they could get sunlight 24/7 and never need cleaning. That too needs cheap space travel as well as better efficiency and durability. One other challenge is finding a safe way to beam the power down. A slight error in aiming could fry a city. "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?" |
