We could have taken TE in the 1st, but would have had to pass on Allen. We could have taken TE in the 2nd but wouldn't have been able to address OT by taking a player with a 1st  round grade....

The players listed above all had some issue/negative coming out of college, or they would have been taken earlier.  There are many many others that were taken 3rd round or later that had productive careers. From the highlights I've seen, Oliver looks like he'll be a good addition!
