I was one of Telvin's biggest critics, often saying (rather tongue in cheek) he needs to give back some of that money after last season.
We didn't draft a rather unknown LB in the late 3rd to just slide in and take Telvin's spot this year.
We're not trading him. But he could be a cap casualty going into next season when we really gotta start doing contracts for Jalen and Yann

Which is fine. That's the biz. Let's not rush him out the door just yet. Certainly not over missing OTAs


I blame the NFLPA. After Coughlin merely mentions that "Frankly, all the players should be here." The NFLPA made a big stink about it which in turn led to the media running with the stories about Ramsey and Telvin since they were the two that hadn't shown up. Then Ramsey's agent opened his mouth about the comment and that only spurned on more talk. Fortunately, Ramsey explained that he's working out on his own just like last year and that's he's been in constant contact with the team.

Meanwhile, the rumors about Telvin keep mounting. There's been speculation that Telvin wasn't showing up because of trade rumors, but that too is merely a rumor. It's gotten so bad with BCC continuing to fuel the rumor fire that reporters confronted Coughlin, Caldwell and Marrone about it. Coughlin made it clear he has no idea what they were talking about; Caldwell clearly hasn't heard from Telvin either but suggested he can't even verify Telvin will be on the final roster; and Marrone basically said, "we'll see if he shows up for the mandatory camp" and left it at that.

I presume and expect that Telvin is working out on his own just like Ramsey realizing that as long as he shows up for the minicamp he'll be fine. He's probably laughing at all the speculation. I just hope it's not a repeat of what happened with Tony Brackens. As some might recall, after Tony got paid he skipped the voluntary OTAs. We at least knew he was working out on his farm, but when he finally did show up to the mandatory minicamp he was out of shape.
