Could it be because the Attorney General is actually doing his job and is investigating what brought this whole thing on?  The whole thing is backfiring on them and will eventually expose the fact that it was the democrats that were colluding with Russia.  Even the New York Times is publishing stories that show that President Trump wasn't lying when he said that they spied on his campaign.

Democrats are getting desperate even to the point of accusing the Attorney General of lying and calling for him to step down.

They're attempting to run this clown show as an impeachment process without actually committing to it. They are removing all doubt that they have no legislative goals and are walking around aimlessly.

Pelosi won't let it turn into an impeachment hearing unless Republicans start to sign on.

For what it's worth, I do think there's a lot of merit to the idea that Trump tried to block the investigation and shut it down through back channels on more than one occasion, and I do consider that to be obstruction. Does that automatically equal impeachment? No, but that sort of investigation is exactly why Congress has the power to hold hearings like this. If Democratic Socialists want to turn it into a partisan shitshow, hey, that's on them in 2020.
