He surely does. I'm having a hard time seeing him sign off on an unknown linebacker over, say, another DE...knowing how much he loves the DEs. Looking back at the picks, the DEs that followed QW were Maxx Crosby and Anthony Nelson at 8 and 9 picks later and Austin Bryant a little after that.

Maybe they suck, I don't know, but they also passed on the guys I mentioned above plus Cajuste, Finley, Justice Hill, Samia, etc. That's a lot of guys that the casual fan (i.e. me) knows and may have preferred given our lack of true knowledge. For him to go with QW and have TC sign off I think was bold (pretty much proves that they draft guys they've scouted instead of listening to us lol).

I think the first 2 picks were TC and come round 3 Tom went ahead and let Dave get his guys.  Seems like it's been that way the last few years.   He even mentioned he thought about drafting Armstead in round 3, they all talked about who they felt would be there in round 5 between Armstead and Williams and they went ahead with Williams and Armstead did fall to round 5.
