Yannick Ngakoue skipping mandatory mini camp

Jones-Drew ended up holding out for business reasons, and by the time they finally worked something out he was done. He ended up showing up out of shape, and I recall him being virtually useless that season.  The same thing happened when Tony Brackens held out.

Yannick Ngakoue is 24 years old. MJD held out during the summer of 2012 coming off a heavy season of workload at the age of 27 at a much more physically demanding position on an offense that ABSOLUTELY demanded production at the position. He took a beating for this team.

Had he not had the injuries he would have been better off. His last year in Jacksonville wasn't too terrible. Had he seen his regular amount of 300+ touches on the ground he would have more than likely had over 1500 yards of total offense that year. Brackens was also 27 when he had his injury.

You could make the argument, at least from a historical point of view that this team would be getting AHEAD of a potential injury and downward spiral in production by extending him now at 24 for 3 - 5 years instead of drawing this out as much as they possibly can. And I still think Brackens played in a much more grittier era of football. It certainly added to his injuries or injury. Now they have better rules in place to pretty much try and protect everybody.

Rehabbing and recovering methods have also been much improved upon since Brackens played. Not too concerned.
