This is a patently false statement. 

He held out because on a legitimately talentless 2011 Jaguars team (basically him and Justin Blackmon) he led the league in rushing while playing through a knee injury the last few games (I believe it was a meniscus tear) He held out because his play on offense warranted it (bc yk.. rushing title; and he did it with minimal help) he held out, eventually caved thinking the front office would do right by him, and then suffered a linsfranc injury 6 games into the season. In those 6 games prior to the linsfranc injury (which essentially derailed/ended his career) he had the highest yards per carry of his career (4.8 ypc) with the exception of his rookie year (5.7 ypc as Fred's backup). That Jags team may have been useless (we were led by Mike Mularkey and Blaine Gabbert) but MJD was not. 

MJD should actually be living proof that Yannick SHOULD hold out because the injury risk is not worth affecting your contract/future earnings.
