That's part of it, the other part is the players have seen this front office whiff on the QB position time and time again. Passing on guys like Watson and Mahomes while sticking with Bortles for way too long, coddling Bortles and giving him an unnecessary/undeserved extension etc. This front office has spent lavishly on free agents under this regime over the years but doesn't want to pony up the necessary cash to extend one of their on in Yan.
