Good take. My expectations for this season did not change at all despite the horrible performance of our backups. Bottom line, if the team stays relatively healthy they have a good chance to make it to the playoffs, at least as a wildcard. As far as individual performances last night, the following caught my eye:

1. Reavis and Herndon are very solid backups in the secondary. Both looked good.
2. Taven Bryan needs to step it up. He did very little yesterday and the "B" word may soon be used to describe him as with so many other 1st rounders in Jags history. How much better would this team be if they took Dallas Goeddert with that pick? The thought of this makes me sick.
3. Minshew needs to play some with the 1st team next week. If he doesn't show anything, the team needs to decide which veteran quarterbacks may get cut after the pre-season and hope they can claim someone like Brian Hoyer. I'm not counting Minshew out, but there is a reason he lasted so long in the draft despite his great college stats. 
4. Let's not get too excited about Tre McBride. How many bubble receivers in Jags history flashed in the pre-season only to disappoint once the "real" season starts? McBride is still a long-shot to make the Jags roster as the number 6 receiver ahead of Cole or Pryor. The practice squad is most likely where he'l end up as I believe he's eligible for that.
5. Will Richardson can only play guard and can't be relied upon to be the swing tackle. 
6. Cam Robinson better be ready by week 1. 
7. Opposing quarterbacks better be worried about facing a defensive line of Yannick, Calais, Dareus and Allen on passing downs. I'd take this foursome over just about any other in the NFL.
