Let's look at those 7 draft picks: (2 of 7 is about league average for 'great players' taken in the first round btw.  About 1/3rd of first rounders over the last 10 years have become great players.)

2013 - Luke Joeckel - Awful pick.  Should've taken Lane Johnson.  But let's be honest about this -- most people were pretty hyped about the Joeckel pick.  Many predicted him to go #1 overall.  I think it's a mistake most GM's would've made in the same position.

2014 - Blake Bortles.  First QB taken, but the next one taken was... Johnny Manziel.  Then Teddy Bridgewater (who hasn't exactly lit the world on fire either), and Derek Carr and Jimmy Garappolo.  It's always bad to miss on a QB.  Bortles played well enough, though, for us to make an AFC Championship game.  (And would've been a Super Bowl if the refs weren't BLIND).  If he could've cut back on the INT's, I think he'd still be on the team.  

2015 - Dante Fowler Jr - A pretty solid player, honestly.  Would we be better off with Leonard Williams?  Sure.  But Fowler wasn't really a bad pick.  

2016 - Jalen Ramsey - Star player.

2017 - Leonard Fournette - No idea why you take an RB in the first round.   Bad decision by Caldwell, seemingly spurred by the fact that we decided to build a team that's meant to play in the 90's rather than the 2000's.

2018 - Taven Bryan - ANother choice that (so far) hasn't really panned out.  Wasn't a terrible pick on paper, but yeah.

2019 - Josh Allen - Could be a Star Player.

Not too bad of a record, really.  Could be a lot better.  But it's not a disaster.  I'm not saying "Keep Caldwell and Coughlin" around.  I don't think they want to build the team as a modern football team (which I think is their biggest folly).  But we could (and have in the past) do a lot worse.
