What fun is that to watch for a KC, PIT, TB, CINN fan? I addressed this myth earlier in the thread. KC has recently won a World Series and TB is currently in one of the wild card spots. In fact, TB just beat LAD last night at home and LAD is only eight games better than TB, and that's likely only because LAD's division is so much weaker then TB's. Also, TB has been competitive since their 2008 World Series appearance. And big money Boston isn't going to make it this year. So, small market teams can flourish. Draft and develop properly and everything else will take care of itself. Now I must say, I'm not really behind JackCity's take of players being able to whine themselves off of a team. But to say small market teams wouldn't be able to complete if that happened isn't true. In fact, sometimes it's helpful to them. As a Ray's fan, I quite enjoy some big market team delivering the bank to some player we've already used up. Think Carl Crawford. I always laugh at the Red Sox for that one. |
