Again, going back to some of the stuff I mentioned weeks ago (prior to this mock draft), none of the quarterbacks in this class are elite.

 

You can shred Bortles to ribbons just on You Tube video. You can't do that with an elite quarterback prospect because they are seriously that much better than normal.

 

NFL's Daniel Jeremiah, Charles Davis, etc. made it clear that the reason Bridgewater, Manziel, Bortles etc. are going to sit atop their mock drafts directly relates NOT to elite talent, but rather, the panic-driven quarterback market.

 

NFL Media draft analyst Charles Davis said on the same podcast that he likes Bridgewater "a bunch." But he also said, "I'm not sure he's a top-10 guy, but I think he may get picked in the top 10."


Davis said quarterbacks often get overrated because if an NFL team doesn't have a guy it can count on at the position, "You're in trouble. I think sometimes we artificially boost these guys up because people are just terrified. What's the alternative? What do we do? The problem is bad drafting advice is like a tree fungus around Jacksonville. The source is the Florida Times Union.

He actually isnt a fast rising prospect.  He was on the map last year as well, people didnt think he was gonna come out this year and he improved a lot through out the year.

 

Master of all pro scouts Gil Brandt has Manziel at 1 and Bortles at 6 so it has to be right!   I actually agree with Manziel at 1 and Clowney at 2 but Bortles should be at 3.

I would put Matthews at 3 but we dont need a OT so I move Bortles up one over Matthews
