I think the excitement is that Minshew’s floor is very high. The general rule of thumb is that a team drafts a rookie QB high, starts them at some point first or second year and watch them suck for half the season. Minshew hasn’t sucked. We are supposed to be seeing a QB making lots of rookie mistakes and they are just not there. 

The ceiling is high. I think most of the issues we see with QB’s are mental. Bortles for example had a horrible wind up yes, but he actually got better.. then he lost confidence and totally regressed. This kid has ZERO confidence issues.

That's what I think is so interesting about this.

"Rookie mistakes" are usually dumb interceptions, lack of anticipation, no pocket awareness, no knowing the scheme etc etc 

We haven't seen much of that yet at all. 

We've seen QBs like Darnold look awful for the first half of the rookie year and then a light comes on for the 2nd half. So will Minshew get even better as he gets more used to everything, or will teams "figure him out" so to speak with much more tape to go off of
