I think you are reading in to it too much. Flip has had buckets of praise for Minshew over the past few weeks. He may just be dialing that down a bit since the hype has likely grown beyond the actual production. These coaches have to manage some player egos as part of their job. Probably wise to temper the praise as well as any criticism.

I wanted to dip the kid in bronze and raise a statue to him but yeah it is good to have those feelings tempered down.  I hope he keeps growing because we have been absolutely starved for an offense we can watch and believe in on Sundays.  That has been the hard part the past 10 years.  It hasn't seemed like we could operate an offense.

I'm biased towards Minshew because he has my last name as his first name
