OR instead of sitting him to make clear some point about how the Jags own him or whatever, you salvage what's left of the situation by trading him to a  team that will actually benefit your team as well?

Just because Jalen has an ego doesn't mean management should try to get into an ego-boasting contest. It makes way  more sense to NOT have him on the bench if he's determined to not play. It's going to affect the locker room whether people admit it or not. It's going to affect the spirit of the team going forward, including constant questioning from the press about Jalen's situation.

What does benching him achieve? That Kahn and TC and Caldwell have big members and can swing them around? How does that help this team get BETTER? By just saying, "HA take THAT you miserable spoiled brat! We own you. Sit on that bench and [BLEEP] in tears as we continue to develop in our own way and possibly suck more." No, i'm sorry. THere's no mending fences here. He's made that clear. Take emotion off of the table, and send him somewhere where he'll bring back a solid price. There ARE teams in need of a young and powerful cornerback. Exploit that, and bring back another first at the very least for this next year, and hopefully another one for the year after that. Even just getting one extra first round COULD make a difference.

Or, it may not, given the way Caldwell is with these sorts of things, but how is benching Ramsey and trying to bully him into submission going to help, given what we already know? He's not playing and he'll do whatever it takes to be traded. There's no chance he's going to change his mind.

Why help another team? Why help Jalen? Why give him what he wants?

We don't need anything. No extra draft picks. Nothing - the team will be fine.

The coaches would make it clear that the players will NEVER have the upper hand and to treat Jalen like he was an opposing team member.

Edit: Oh and if he had the balls to just say, I'm healthy but i refuse to play; I'd say trade him. But because he's being a cowardly piece of cow dung? RUIN HIS CAREER.
