I heard Chris Simms this morning. He said the teams Darnold has trouble with are the ones that consistently disguise their coverage. He the said the Jags don’t do that and basically run about three looks all game. If he is right, we need to break tendency this week.
This is another team we should/ must beat.

Wash tried to do that with his safeties in week one.
We know that outcome.
This was part of what he meant when he said he got "too cute."
We don't have the secondary to pull off much disguise right now IMO.
I think the best thing Wash can do IMO is to dial up pressure with stunts and blitzes.
I'd send extra guys like, Hayden, Jacobs, Jack even put Allen, Yan or McCray at SAM to blitz a time or two.
Darnold will make mistakes with guys in his face often enough.
I like that idea. Especially with Hayden. Darnold got absolutely clobbered for a forced fumble on MNF with a similar type blitz off the edge and he paid for it when he didn't even bother to peek over there on that particular play. Hayden has been pretty good at it here and there.
In fairness though, about the "too cute" comment. Darnold isn't Mahomes. And Gase isn't Reid. They need to break tendency this week. Sitting back and playing zone and giving this kid any comfort in the pocket is foolish. And if Dareus is out they'll probably want to tee off with a LB or two in order to either deck Darnold or at least stifle Bell in the backfield.
I really DON'T like the idea of Jack blitzing too much on earlier downs unless it's 3rd and a country mile to go. Would rather have Jack literally keep an eye on Bell throughout the entire game. I don't know if Wash has done it yet this year. And if he has I have obviously missed it. But this could be a DAMN good week to actually have Josh Allen drop back into coverage or sneak away from the line in certain situations. He was pretty good in pass coverage at Kentucky.
I would like to see him maybe drop back and roam with Bell on one of those quick out passes in the flats. Because we know that plays coming at some point in this one. Campbell, Ngakoue and even Bryan could be causing early fits for their offensive line. Hopefully they don't get "too cute" like they did in Carolina against McCaffrey with Ngakoue bleeding back into coverage, etc.
