NFL Scouting Combine invitations

I found this information about senior Galludet defensive end Adham Talaat on NFL Draft Diamonds:
Highlights 2013 stats: 20 solo, 34 total, 5 sacks, 9.5 TFL, 1 forced fumble, 3 passes defensed 2012 stats: 28 solo, 45 total, 7.5 sacks, 12.5 TFL, 5 forced fumbles, 4 passes defensed, 1 TD 2012 Eastern Collegiate Football Conference Second Team Verdict Adham Talaat is a top notch athlete who can prove to be an asset anywhere on the defensive line. His 6-6, 292-pound frame gives him the build of an archetypal 3-4 defensive end, but his relentlessness and athletic ability gives him a J.J. Watt type potential. While Talaat is not quite at Watt's level, the way he plays the game definitely suggests he will get there in time. Talaat demonstrated great speed, agility, and football IQ on the field. One of my favorite parts about Talaat's game is his 4-point stance. To see a 6-6, 292-pound defensive lineman explode out of a sprinter's 4-point stance is very initimidating. Aside from his physical attributes, Talaat also excels in run defense, pass rush, short passes, and even special teams. The biggest hole I saw in Talaat's game was his unfamiliarity with the read option. However, judging from how much his coaches raved about his enthusiasm for being a student of the game, the read option probably won't be an issue for him for long. For now, I have Talaat as a high potential 3-4 defensive end prospect, who has the ability to contribute early in his career. Judging from the some 20-odd NFL teams who have already piqued interest in Talaat, not only could I see him drafted, I could see him going as high as the 5th round due to his unique combination of size, strength, athletic ability, and football IQ. Here is Talaat's bio: http://www.gallaudetathletics.com/sports...laat_adham http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjJ-fBrvs...tube_gdata My question is if he went to a different school, would the NFL invite him to the scouting combine? I read somewhere he was not invited and is limited to private workouts. I am not saying he should be a Jaguar, but if he is good enough to be drafted, I think he was screwed out of the combine because of his ears. |
