You can't draft everybody currently playing college football.

 

I guess nobody thought about it when they allowed all these spiffy new schools to have football teams. Make a logo. Join a conference and start forking out the stipends. In no time at all, you'll be loaded with non-students with all the answers to their quarterly exams sitting on their phone playing football for you.

 

Get the press to rave on your quarterback and suddenly, you're a real powerhouse. Send the star quarterback to the Super Bowl and get a picture of him with Gil Brandt. Build more. Accept more students.

 

Life becomes the process. Life resists the outcome.

 

Think of the thousands and thousands of college football players who also believe they were screwed out of an invitation to the Scouting Combine.

 

Time was when colleges played football. Now football plays colleges.

 

Time to get rid of college football. Take the game off campus and get back to educating our future.
