Coughlin specifically chose Marrone.  I agree with this take.

This really shouldn't be that hard of a sell to a promising coaching candidate. You have plenty of draft picks to fix whatever it is you think needs fixed. You coach in a tax free state. Jacksonville is pretty laid back for the most part as well. 

As long as Khan cleans house it really, really shouldn't be that hard of a sell in the weeks to come. A good coach worth his salt could fix this team in due time. A lot of the failures this year seem to be the result of inept coaching and scouting. There's no other explanation for it. 

They started off 4 - 4 and then went on a colossal and historical backslide. There's something wrong with the wiring. Doesn't add up.
