Just OK is not OK. 
Caldwell has had a hand in creating the roster that currently isn't good enough. Tom surely handicapped him the past couple years but no excuses because without his failures prior to 2017 there wouldn't have been so much of a need for Coughlin.

Numerous FA signings haven't worked out. Numerous first rounders not good enough.
A terrible pick of a QB. A terrible extension for said QB. And a bad deal for an average at best Foles.
His history just isn't good enough to warrant retaining him.
