Weird.  I recall them scaling back from that 73K during 96-99 on more than one occasion.  
Anyway - attendance was far from a problem during that stretch regardless of the large capacity. 
The average from that period surpasses 15 current teams' average  and is 2K more than the total capacity of the newly built stadium in Minnesota.

Agreed. And I think if we had a couple of playoff seasons back to back it'd be difficult to find a non-SRO ticket to a game with current capacity.
