Different. Manning was going against a nearly flawless defense that knew his offense, with a less than stellar or healthy offensive line. Multiple fantastic edge rushers.


McCarron was up against a good but not great college defense, relied mostly on his running game, with a top two line in college football. Oklahoma doesn't have elite pass rushers, at least to my knowledge. I may be wrong.


Peyton didn't buckle under the pressure, he and his team were both outclassed and unlucky from the first play to the last. Alabama had the better team. I won't say McCarron lost them the game, but he did more harm than good.
