Where I live, there's a Christian radio station. This is not about religion, just the tendency to fence out other views.  This radio station will play "you raise me up", but not the Josh Groban version. Nowhere did those Christian stations attack the other stations who did play those versions to force them not to play Groban. Yes, Steve Scalise got shot, but so did Gabrielle Giffords.  
In 1930s Germany, different political parties actually fought in the streets.  I definitely agree members of Congress getting shot is in that category.  Swatting probably does, too. But doxxing? Not sure.  Ajit Pai got doxxed and protestors showed up at his house for a week or two, but they weren't violent.  Deplatforming? Create your own platform. No one has a right to use YouTube or Patreon.
