Allen doesn't give you options to cut Ngakoue. He gives you the right number of pass rushers in addition to Ngakoue and the "days-numbered" Campbell.

The Jags aren't going to be winning any time soon regardless unless you believe in Minshew mania.  Overpaying the guy out of desperation will only hurt once they're ready to be true contenders again.  Stockpile the draft picks and rollover the cap space.

We'd all love to have him back if he wants to be here playing for what he's worth.

Every single pass rusher worth a flip gets overpayed in free agency. That's how it works. 
The ever changing market determines "what he's worth" not some line in the sand drawn by fans at an arbitrary number like 17 mil per year. 

I'd rather be the club paying Yan 3 mil more than fans want to pay him than the club short a stud pass rusher we drafted and developed. 

We already HAVE good draft capital and we have the means to pay Yan too. This is a no-brainer for me. 
Pay the man what the market bears and lay the incentives on thick. He's a guy that bets on himself.
