It matters that the guy who signed Foles (and possibly influenced his premature return to the lineup) and the coach who designed/called those plays are gone. The new guys hopefully see the situation here with more clarity.

Thats fair. I do feel Marrone has happily let all the QB stuff be put on Coughlin but i worry about a HC doing things he disagrees with. 

I dare say the stance of 'open competition' like you say is just the off season position and they have more of an idea but they've had all 3 QB's on the roster a year, id like to think they know what they have.

I think this and everything they are saying is just talk. They don't want to give any info on where they may go in the Draft and also don't want to box themselves in with anything. If Minshew is the QB we think he is and can be, he should win the competition. Hopefully....

Agreed, i hope!! 

I get it if its just the off season position and not boxing themselves in. 

I cant help but think this is why we only ever have 1 good QB. We dont know what to do with 2!!
