It's not like this defense was carrying us any more.  If they like what they have in Minshew and believe Gruden can create a strong offense...why not just dump it all on the offense and try to win that way?  Lots of teams build this way...including the Super Bowl champs.  You can get away with a good enough defense these days.  You just need a couple key plays here and there.

I'm not saying Minshew is Mahomes by any stretch.  It was just something I had begun to consider as a philosophy.

That's self preservation kicking in. I had the same thoughts as well yesterday. Problem is that I can't see it happening with the same lame duck general manager and head coach in place. 

Somehow they'll dick this up. They'll probably take Kinlaw at 9th overall instead of one of the top three OT's on the board or possibly the highest rated WR on the board. They'll probably take that Florida CB at 20th overall and pass up on yet another solid offensive player. 

Depends on what happens with Ngakoue though. And then you have to factor in how fast and how well this offense can pick-up the speed and mindset of Gruden's approach and play calling. 

And do you really trust long term success with this ho hum offensive line? Idk.
