There's no way we don't use a tag of some sort on Yan. We're probably shopping him, if we get no realistic offers, we could use the transition tag and let someone else do the work but I still think the franchise tag and trade (or franchise and play) option is what we'll see.

If he refuses to sign it, I see if he sits. If he does he only hurts his stock imo. Even if he shows up at week 10 and signs it, he isn't putting together a good resume, other players enter the market (rookie stars, other FAs, which lessens his value the next year) and it's a bad look.
I don't think Bell won when he sat a year (as arguably the best back in the league) and ended up on the Jets and is now a fringe top 5 RB (maybe even lower).

If Yan wants to get paid he'll sign the tag and accept the trade or sign and play (or sign a long term deal).
If he wants to play hardball, he'll lose in the long run of the Not For Long league.
