The more likely scenario is that they think any tackling issues are coachable and signing him to play the middle allows Jack to play his natural Will spot for the first time in his career where he just has to run sideline to sideline and make plays. With Jack not having to lead and get everyone lined up I think he's due for a stellar season!!

You beat me to it. To me it makes sense. I saw something where Simmons indicated he wanted to be an edge rusher and being an edge rusher in a 3-4 makes perfect sense he's got the size and the link that you want at he's what 6 for 2:40? That's perfect for 3/4 outside backer and with his speed Eagan Eagan certainly turn the corner and pressure quarterback.that said switching to a 3-4 is not something I would take very lightly here. Even assuming we could get Simmons we'd still need a down lineman to run a 3-4 and I don't think we have that. We certainly don't have to nose tackle although we're supposedly eyeing Utah's leki fotu who would be an ideal 3/4 nose tackle.

If Brown and Okudah are already gone and Simmons miraculously falls to 9, the Jags would be crazy to not take him. He's simply too talented to pass on.As you said, Fotu would be the perfect nose tackle and he very likely will be there in round 3. They'd have to very seriously consider a 3-4 with Bryan, Fotu and Allen with Smoot also getting plenty of playing time. A linebacking corps of Simmons, Jack, Schobert and an improved Williams would be fun to watch. I could also see Allen moving to outside backer in certain schemes. 

I still believe they will get another first rounder for Yannick, so 3 of their first 4 picks could be to bolster the offense. Give Minshew Justin Jefferson and bolster the offensive line with someone to replace Cann and challenge Cam Robinson.
