Jaguars take another swing at first-round QB in McShay's latest mock

I think Herbert is going to end up with the 49ERS.

I see Burrow to the Bengals. I see Tagovailoa to the Dolphins. I think the Chargers are going to either trade down or aim to sign Cam Newton and/or Jameis WInston to compete with Tyrod Taylor this summer.

My problem with a QB being mocked to us in this draft doesn't hold much water to me for a number of reasons.

1. There's been no evidence of them trying to replace Minshew between free agency and the draft process so far.
2. They traded Foles and can't afford to hitch their fortunes to a rookie QB this year.
3. Too many holes elsewhere.

Lastly. The moves being made via free agency also tells me that the current temperature this year regarding this QB class in particular doesn't instill much confidence in general. Carolina is opting with Bridgewater. And a few other teams picked-up some decent QB's from the XFL. Including Carolina.

Chicago traded for Foles. The clots signed Rivers. The Buccaneers gained Brady. The Raiders picked-up Mariota to push Carr (They're probably hoping for a Tannehill 2.0 in 2020 with this move) and you still have Winston and Newton left on the market to shore up additional starting spots potentially.

I honestly wouldn't be shocked one bit that we only end up seeing ONE or TWO QB's taken on opening night of the draft and that's Burrow and Tagovailoa. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe New England or San Francisco tried to position themselves up to land Tagovailoa with Miami there at the 5th spot. But, again, wouldn't be surprised at all to see Burrow go number one. And then? The rest of the QB's start to drop outside of the top ten.
