This is incorrect. Covid droplets, emitted by coughing and sneezing, are heavy and only carry a few feet. Bioaerosols, emitted by exhalation, are much smaller and can hang in the air and carry further, but it is unclear if they carry enough of the virus to infect. In fact, that's something that is unknown about any virus.

If people wear masks, the 6 foot rule is anything but pointless.
