On a basic level I know I have no say in this.  I know a million dollars is a lot to Yan, and may be a lot to Khan since he's signing the checks.

But damn, in the worl of NFL contracts, a million a year doesn't seem insurmountable at all.

I'm sickened by the idea that a million a year caused all of this.

This was my takeaway from the article:

He received a fair contract offer. 

No other team is willing to offer the same.

The contract we offered paid higher annually than what he would make on the franchise tag.

If his main concern is about “feeding his family” what is the hold up?
