Grade the 2020 draft

A team that needs to win now doesn't dump veterans left and right and replace them with projects in the draft and mid-tier free agents. Caldwell is around in 2021 no matter what, with Marrone the likely fall guy if things go south. It's exactly what they do when veterans don't WANT to stay. Caldwell isn't drafting for the future. He's drafting for the NOW. And that's exactly what a team that needs to win now does. Caldwell is in an unenviable position. A lot of players simply want out because of how the team has been run. So that means Caldwell has to fill those holes FAST. I say Caldwell's gone barring Minshew being a Top 10 QB next season. |
