It's hard to build a generous welfare state amidst ethic and racial diversity.  This is not the fault of any race or ethnicity in particular.  It's just that, when a do-gooder proposes new high taxes and high benefits, the most convenient argument opposing that is "bad people will exploit that system." That argument more persuasive in a diverse society where people imagine that the "bad people" look different and speak different.  
But I don't mean "persuasive" in the sense that it's a sound argument, just that it persuades people.

If Sweden has few problems of people exploiting their system, I'd expect America to have few problems of that type with a similar system.

Do gooders?  Have u studied the history of state based welfare? State based education?  

Schools in Baltimore spend more per student than our european allies.  The schools are worse off.  63% of health costs in this country are paid by the state.  50 plus % of total GD is now allocated by the state.  We have redistributed over 22 trillion dollars since we declared the war on poverty.  

What do we have to show for all this "do-gooderism"  the same people we are trying to help are worse off than we were at the later part of the 20th century and as a consolation prize we have killed more black people on the altar of "social justice" than there were black people alive in 1960.  

How many more millions of people have to die before "do gooders" actually ask if they're doing good.
