If you really pay attention to the underpinnings of these arguments, you will see that there is a "face" of it, which is somewhat reasonable, and a belly of it, which is not. If I thought for a second that the narrative would stop at the face, I would be much more inclined to endorse it, but it's been shown time and time again that it's not really about that. There will always be something to follow it. Not to mention, the flow of the argument always goes in one direction.
