Another option is skipping Jax altogether and stay in Historic district of St. Augustine.
Everything is walking distance and far more options than downtown Jax has to offer with a ton of history to boot.. You'll certainly need to rent a car for the 45 minute drive to jacksonville for the game but the entire time in St. Augustine, your car can stay parked. Everything truly is walking distance. Nearly every restaurtant in St. Augustine has outdoor dining and features live music. If you do need to see the Ocean, or Alligator Farm or Lighthouse, it's a 5-minute drive. You can even drive on the beach in St. Augustine. Plenty of waterfront dining & large supply of pubs. There are hop on/hop off trollies that come by every 15 minutes. They take you to most every historic landmark and close to any restaurant/pub you'll need. I don't want to come off as a Jax Basher. I love Jax. The reality is St. Augustine offers WAAAAY more in terms of entertainment than downtown jax. |
