In Depth look at TE’s through the years
|
I wanted to take a look at our Tight End numbers across the board and here is what I came up with. We have been pretty lack luster to say the least.
I’m just gonna dive right in to it... The Jaguars have had a total of 33 Tight Ends from 1995 to present day to collect a stat. Of those 33 players only 17 have scored a TD. A 125 total touchdowns have been scored by a TE. Lewis - 33 Brady - 13 Mitchell - 11 Damon Jones - 11 George Wrighster - 9 Julius Thomas - 9 Zach Miller - 4 Clay Harbor - 4 O’Shaughnessy - 3 Nic Jacobs, Ben Koyak, Brian Jones, Richard Angulo, Derek Brown, Danny Noble, Nick O’Leary, ASJ all have 1 TD each. The Jaguars have had a Tight End go over 100 yards in a single game just 5 times. Kyle Brady is the only TE to do it twice. The most receiving yards ever recorded in a single game by a Jaguar TE: Mitchell 161 yards on 10 catches Brady 138 yards on 10 catches Thomas 116 yards on 9 catches Brady 111 yards on 8 catches Lewis 103 yards on 7 catches We’ve only sent 1 player to the Pro Bowl as a TE which was Lewis in 2010. Statistically, the player with the best year was Kyle Brady back in the year 2000. He had 64 receptions for 729 yards and 3 TD’s, however Lewis had his best year in 2010 where he had 58 receptions for 700 yards and 10 TD’s. The most receptions in a game by a Jaguar TE was set by 2 players. Brady and Mitchell. The top 10 TE receiving yards list for a Jaguar is: 1. Lewis 4502 2. Brady 2500 3. Mitchell 2091 4. Wrighster 850 5. Thomas 736 6. Harbor 730 7. Damon Jones 550 8. O’Shaughnessy 516 9. Zach Miller 470 10. Rich Griffith 296 Top 10 in receptions by a Jaguar TE: 1. Lewis 375 2. Brady 241 3. Mitchell 191 4. Wrighster 94 5. Thomas 76 6. Harbor 64 7. O’Shaugnessy 52 8. Miller 45 9. Damon Jones 41 10. Derek Brown and Ben Koyak 25 Only 4 TE have 10 or more touchdowns in a CAREER as a Jaguar: Lewis 33 Brady 13 Mitchell 11 Damon Jones 11 Wrighster and Thomas both have just 9 each. The longest reception ever by a Jaguars TE: Lewis 63 Miller 62 Noble 62 Harbor 59 Yoder 56 Mitchell 45 Brady 41 Of the 33 Tight Ends to ever play for the Jaguars, 16 never scored a TD. Lewis has a career catch percentage of 57% Of the 5 times a Jaguars TE went over the 100 yds receiving mark, only once did we win the game. That was in the year 2000 when Brady posted 10 catches for 138 yards at Dallas. The other 4 times we lost the game. A good receiving TE could come in here and own every TE record. The craziest stat to me is there has only been 4 TE’s in team history with 10 TDs or more. Thought you guys might like this. We show less advertisements to registered users.
