I saw this article earlier today while at work and it ruined my whole day.  I’m a father of a 5 year old son myself, and my son looks very similar in appearance to Cannon.  I have no idea how a parent or sibling is expected to get through something like this, and I hope I never have to find out.

What sickens me is how some people want to take this terrible tragedy and use it in some perverted race-baiting narrative in an attempt to drive home a warped viewpoint.  This isn’t about race any more than it is about 2nd amendment rights.  This was an innocent child that was murdered in cold blood...a child.  The skin tones don’t matter in this story to me, and they shouldn’t to anyone else, either. 

This was an inexcusable crime.  I’m sure that mental illness will be entertained as a defense during the trial, based on the presumption that no sane person could commit such an act.  Personally, I wish we could just take people guilty of crimes like this and throw them into a vat of boiling oil, mental illness or not.

I’m an atheist, but if there does indeed exist a special place in the afterlife for innocents like Cannon I hope that he was welcomed there with love and affection.

Excellent take! It sickens me to see that some people on this board are so racist. That's why I'm done viewing anything in the future from this thread. Thankfully, I believe that the majority of people do not believe like these pathetic individuals. Many of them are losers who must find someone to blame for their failures in life. Good luck to those of you who continue to respond critically to their posts.
