My point is this memorial is by and for the people of New York.
If they think those two towers of light are no longer worth doing, then DeBlasio is fulfilling their will.
But if they do think the towers of light are still worth doing, then de Blasio just earned himself a big black eye, and it might come up during the re-election campaign.
The founding fathers of this country gave us local government with local elections.
I don't see why we can't just let this play out the way it's going to play out and keep our opinion to ourselves.
