I'm not sure where you were during all of this but I'm amazed you think civil rights progression happened due to people protesting within the rules of the time and within what authority allowed them to do. 

Part of the whitewashing if MLK is portraying him as a peace loving man who just wasn't civil rights to progress via standing around abiding by the law and *waiting* for things to change.

1.) These people aren't advocating for civil rights.  

2.) Civil disobedience and near insurrection are two different things.

The protests is against opressive policing and police brutality against citizens so yeah those both fall under the remit of civil rights infringements. 

Well that's the issue. As far as posters here are concerned any sort of civil disobedience like protesting where they shouldn't be or pushing back against police brutality means they deserve everything they get and more (some want them shot).
