He's not getting paid if he doesn't play well. Get a clue.

I am saying he won't be a Hall of Fame level player if his #1 motivation is money. He will play good enough not to get cut, be awesome in contract years, and that will be it.

 

I don't think he will suck, but if I am looking at his upside as Reggie White, I don't think he gets there if the primary motivation is getting 'paid.' You have to want to be the best to be the best. Everything he has said the last month leads me to think more and more he just listened to ESPN pundits a bunch and does what they said he should do (i.e. not try all last season to avoid injury, saying college players should get paid), AND that he thinks he can just out-talent the NFL.

 

I am fine with arrogance in a football player, but you have to at least be willing to put in work, and he doesn't seem to be willing to do that from what I see. He already seems entitled just talking about the combine http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...e-combine/

At last year’s Combine, the fastest time for a defensive lineman was 4.60 seconds.

Clowney scoffed at that time.

“I ain’t going to run a 4.6,” Clowney said. “I’m probably going to run low 4.5, 4.4.” '

 

There are a lot of players who talk, but not near as many who can play up to it. And in general, I want play over talk. Watch the video from my first post, it doesn't inspire confidence at all to me.
