I don't even know for sure what an IRA is. The only IRA I know is the Irish Republican Army. Weren't they a terrorist group back in the late 80's/early 90's? 

I don't know anything about deductions for mortgage. I just take in the paperwork that the state sends me through the mail and give it to the tax guy.

IRA = Individual Retirement Account.  Do you plan on living off SS when you retire? If you don't have any deductions, you would use the EZ form ... Which is really "Easy" ... Even a Caveman could do it. May look like stone carving in a cave, but he could do it.

I live paycheck to paycheck, so I have no money left over for retirement. I'll worry about that when the time comes. Hopefully, I'll get lucky and I'll be dead before retirement. As far as doing taxes, numbers are not my thing. I pay someone else to fill out my EZ form. I'm paranoid about the IRS coming after me, so I pay someone else to do it, because I don't trust myself not to make a mistake.
