A third party vote indicates that you are either ignorant of how the electoral college works, or that you do not care which of the two major party candidates wins.
If you hate one of the two major party candidates less than the other, that's the candidate you should vote for, not the third party unicorn.
then you should go to your state legislators and your members of Congress and tell them that you want them to come up the process that will produce better candidates for you in the future.
