My point was HOF greatness was projected for Elway from the start. People knew ans said he would be one of the greatest if not THE GREATEST to ever play his position before he even stepped foot into the NFL.

 

The same was not said about Jordan. It just wasn't. People fawned over his athletic ability but that only takes you so far. There would teams legitimately concerned that his style of play would only work for so long in the NBA against NBA defenders. Which is why I compared him as a prospect to Johnny. People fawn over his playmaking ability but eventually he will need to learn to develop as a better pocket passer, which I believe he will. Much like Jordan developed a great mid range jump shot.
