So I scrolled through all the responses. Agree completely with everyone here that making a statement this firm about your defensive coordinator is unacceptable.

One thing not yet discussed - what impact will this have on defensive players we wish to retain? One, without a change, we keep pushing the round pegs against the square holes, and nobody is going to develop while the same regime keeps them stagnant. Two, if your contract is coming up, or if you're a star player who may be due for an extension, continued frustration with ownership that seems okay with languishing somewhere below mediocrity will sour your desire to stick around long term. We've already seen this with a heap of our best defensive guys.

I have NO idea whether any of the position coaches would be able to do any better or worse than the DC is doing presently, but a big part of the hierarchy is training up those assistants so they CAN step up when needed to get performance out of their part of the roster. Why not give one of them a few weeks to post a resume filler, at the very least, especially if you realize the ship is taking on water? I think the roster is in revolt, and the longer Khan (and Dave) remain idle, the worse the impact will be.
